What to Expect:

2-Hour Private Passap Lesson: Getting Started with Your Passap

• Passap Setup & Machine Basics | 20–25 min
  • Identify the major components of the Passap E6000
  • Review the front and back beds, locks, yarn carriers and tension controls
  • Basic machine setup and positioning
  • Oiling
  • Review how the machine should feel and sound when operating properly
  • Establish a basic knitting routine so you feel more confident working independently
• Color Changer Troubleshooting | 20–25 min
  • Review the operation of the color changer
  • Diagnose the issue with Color Changer #1
  • Check positioning, attachment and movement
  • Identify potential causes of the changer coming loose
  • Practice using the color changer correctly and confidently
• Needle Channel Replacement | 25–30 min
  • Review the broken needle channel and replacement part
  • Discuss what needs to be removed to access the channel
  • Demonstrate the disassembly process
  • Work through the replacement together, as time allows
  • Review how to safely reassemble and check the needle bed afterward
  • Note: The needle-channel replacement will be approached as a hands-on learning exercise. The amount of disassembly and reassembly required may vary depending on the machine, so completing the repair during the lesson cannot be guaranteed.
• Yarn, Tension & Basic Knitting | 20–25 min
  • Yarn selection and preparation
  • Understanding Passap tension and stitch size
  • Proper yarn threading and feeding
  • Cast-on and establishing a stable start
  • Adding weights correctly
  • Knit a simple swatch while observing carriage movement and fabric formation
• Practice, Questions & Next Steps | 15–20 min
  • Knit together using the techniques covered
  • Address questions specific to your machine
  • Identify anything that still needs attention

The goal isn’t just to get the machine working during our time together. It’s to help you understand your Passap well enough that you feel comfortable setting it up, knitting on it and figuring out what to check when something isn’t working as expected.
